Emergency Placement Support
Emergency Placement Support funds are made possible through our 401Gives Campaign. These funds are designated to provide immediate assistance to kinship families who have received an emergency or sibling placement, or foster, adoptive, and guardianship families who are experiencing an unexpected hardship. Support may help families access essential items, resources, and basic needs to help ensure children entering care have a safe, stable, and supportive environment.
Emergency Assistance Funds
Emergency Assistance Funds are available to help support and stabilize kinship families who receive an emergency placement with little notice. Children entering foster care often arrive with few or no personal belongings, these funds help families provide essential basic needs such as clothing, toiletries, bedding, school supplies, and other immediate necessities. Our goal is to help ease the transition for both children and caregivers while creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment during a critical time.
While kinship families are prioritized due to the unique nature and urgency often associated with these placements, traditional foster families may also be eligible to receive Emergency Assistance Funds when unexpected circumstances or hardships arise. The Village recognizes that caring for children in foster care can bring unforeseen financial and emotional challenges, and these funds are intended to help families maintain stability and meet the immediate needs of the children in their care.
